about

Karin Averkin, is a German artist born in London, UK. She has been living and working in Geneva, Switzerland as an interior designer and project manager for the past 25 years. K.Averkin has been painting and drawing since childhood and has developed her artistic skills over the years through a constant practice as an autodidact and through attending workshops on a continuous basis. This allowed her to explore various techniques (oil, acrylic, printing, transfer techniques, drawing, perspective etc.) and practice new skills while interacting with other artists and art teachers. She expresses herself using hybrid media techniques and usually bright and joyful colors reflecting the energy within. Lately she has been exploring black and white ink drawing as well as in combination with color. Her paintings are inspired by nature, the pulsing vibration of modern cities or simply her upcoming thoughts and emotions in the process.
